My name is Maria Lourdes Ros Pina and I am the head of the ASISA Local Agency in Murcia
From our headquarters in Murcia we personally attend to the insured of ASISA, a leading health insurance entity and the only company with its own hospital network in Spain.
We are specialists in health insurance for international students who come to study in Spain, as well as for their family members (spouse/common-law partner and children), providing a quick response (issuance of the necessary certificate to obtain the Visa immediately after payment of the insurance) and personalized attention to help you both in taking out the insurance and in any subsequent procedure with the guarantee of being an official ASISA agency with physical facilities.

I have created this website to facilitate the contracting of the health insurance that the law requires so that international students who want to come to study in Spain can obtain a visa.
The law establishes that in applications for a stay visa for studies, the applicant must have taken out private health insurance with an insurance company authorised to operate in Spain, as is the case with ASISA.
What criteria must your insurance meet as a student in Spain?
This insurance must meet a series of criteria in order to be valid:
- It has to be health insurance (not travel insurance).
- The insurance must cover all the risks normally covered for nationals (i.e. the catalogue of benefits of the National Health System regulated in articles 7 and following of Law 16/2003, of 28 May, on the cohesion and quality of the National Health System). This coverage must be maintained throughout the term of the authorization.
- The medical insurance must not have a grace period or co-payment or coverage limit, that is, it must cover 100% of medical, hospital and out-of-hospital expenses. Spanish companies such as ASISA offer 100% of expenses and unlimited coverage.
